Amit Shah blasted earlier administrations for not doing more to combat terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
During his speech in Rajya Sabha on counter-terrorism operations and developments in Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah targeted a fresh barb at Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha.
That’s not going to be used. I left my statement officially closed: How do you show a person with black glasses that development is taking place? This is how ANI put it into words regarding Shah’s snub of the Congress leader.
On that note, he brought up the Bharat Jodo Yatra undertaken by Gandhi through Kashmir wherein he noted that only from a distance had the Congress leader met up with militants.
He said, Arre bhai, nazar mein hi aatankwadi hai toh sapne mein bhi aayega aur Kashmir mein bhi (If someone has a terrorist in their mind, he would show himself in Kashmir and in your dreams).
In his speech to the Upper House, Shah blasted earlier administrations for not doing more to combat terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Terrorists would come into Kashmir from the neighboring country and carry out murders and bombings here.” Not a single event used to be observed carelessly. The attitude of central governments was adaptable. In the past, they were reserved and afraid to talk. Their vote bank was a concern for them,” Shah stated.
In response, he said, “But after PM Modi came to power, we displayed a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism,” as reported by ANI.
India’s immediate responses to the Uri and Pulwama assaults were the surgical strike in 2016 and the Balakot airstrike in 2019, he added.
Even after we assumed power, Uri and Pulwama were the targets of strikes. We replied within 10 days with airstrikes and surgery. There was the beginning of the zero-tolerance stance against terrorism,” Shah said.
The repeal of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, was hailed by the home minister as a landmark decision that put an end to separatist in Kashmir. Article 370, as we all know, served as the foundation for Kashmiri secession. Additionally, I would want to thank the Constitution’s framers for making 370 transitory. “On August 5, 2019, we eliminated Article 370,” Shah stated.
