Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh’s Minister for IT and Electronics, Nara Lokesh, has sought the assistance of former Pepsico CEO Indra Nooyi in promoting Brand Andhra Pradesh.
Currently on a visit to the United States, Lokesh met with Nooyi at the IT Survey Synergy Summit held in Las Vegas. During the meeting, Lokesh requested Nooyi’s support for the state’s initiatives aimed at sustainable economic growth, according to an official statement released Wednesday.
Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s rapid development under the investor-friendly policies driven by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Lokesh encouraged IT companies to collaborate in advancing the state’s technology and manufacturing sectors. He also asked Nooyi to help promote Andhra Pradesh’s commitment to renewable energy projects, green initiatives, and eco-friendly industrial policies within the business community. Emphasizing the government’s focus on fostering women’s leadership, Lokesh invited Nooyi to provide insights on empowering women across various fields.
Lokesh further shared the state’s efforts to empower the youth through skill development in education and technology and requested Nooyi’s input on mentoring programs to help achieve these objectives.
Seeking broader industry collaboration, Lokesh expressed hopes for IT companies to invest and contribute to building Brand Andhra Pradesh. Nooyi responded positively, pledging her support to attract investments to the state.
Lokesh also met Salesforce CEO Clara Shih, seeking collaboration to launch AI-skilling programs in Andhra Pradesh, as the state focuses on smart governance and an AI-driven economy.
