Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has once again targeted Ola and its CEO, Bhavish Aggarwal, calling for greater transparency concerning customer service issues. Kamra has expressed his dissatisfaction with Ola’s after-sales service, criticizing the company for failing to address ongoing customer complaints and lacking a clear plan for resolution.
Kamra wrote in a post on X (previously Twitter) on Thursday, “Ola Electric has not offered a timeline for addressing existing consumer complaints or disclosed any plans for refunds. Even whether there is a plan is unknown to us. I can only advise @bhash (Bhavish Aggarwal) to present a public plan that does not include my employment.
There has been conflict between Kamra and Aggarwal before. An photograph of Ola Electric scooters that looked to be awaiting service was included in Kamra’s mocking response to a post by Aggarwal earlier in October that featured a picture of Ola’s gigafactory, referencing the company’s backlog of repairs.
In response, Aggarwal called Kamra a “failed stand-up comic” and implied that his critique was a “paid post.” Ola Electric is growing its service network and will soon address all client complaints, he added.
This public confrontation seems to coincide with a decline in Ola Electric’s stock value. On October 8, shares of Ola Electric Mobility dropped by 6% after the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) issued a notice accusing the company of misleading advertising and engaging in unfair trade practices.
Ola has faced mounting pressure to enhance its customer service and clarify its refund and complaint policies, yet the company has not made any formal announcements to address these matters.
