New Delhi: The fourth season of the popular business reality show Shark Tank India has introduced Snapdeal co-founder Kunal Bahl as its latest shark.
Announcing the addition on social media, the show’s creators wrote: “From co-founding Snapdeal | AceVector Group to investing in some of India’s brightest startups through Titan Capital, Kunal’s entrepreneurial journey has been remarkable. Now, he’s set to bring his expertise in building and scaling businesses to the Shark Tank India stage!”
The current panel of judges includes Namita Thapar, executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals; Ritesh Agarwal, founder of Oyo; Aman Gupta, co-founder of boAt; Peyush Bansal from Lenskart; and Anupam Mittal of People Group.
Meanwhile, Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal, who made his debut in season three, stepped away from the show in its fourth season.
Who is Kunal Bahl?
Kunal Bahl co-founded the e-commerce platform Snapdeal in 2010. A year later, in September 2011, he co-founded Titan Capital, which has been an early investor in several successful startups such as Ola Cabs, Urban Company, Razorpay, Khatabook, Mamaearth, and Yellow.AI, among others. Bahl also serves as a promoter and board director at Unicommerce, further solidifying his role in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Kunal Bahl is a prominent figure in the Indian startup ecosystem, known for his insights and advocacy on issues affecting startups. He currently holds key positions as a member of the National Startup Advisory Council and the Board of Governors of the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations. Additionally, he serves as the Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry Startup Committee.
Kunal graduated from the prestigious Jerome Fisher Program in Management and Technology at the University of Pennsylvania, earning degrees in both engineering and business from the Wharton School. His entrepreneurial success has garnered numerous accolades, including Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year (Startup), Fortune Global 40 Under 40, and The Economic Times Entrepreneur of the Year, among others.
