Delta Air Lines aircraft crashed at Pearson Airport in Toronto and came to a dramatic stop upside down. Among the 80 persons who survived the disaster overseas, four members of the crew were on board. According to Delta, 21 passengers received medical assistance in hospitals due to the crash landing. Most of them have already been released, but one passenger is still being treated.
Many survivors were left “hanging like bats” inside the downed plane, and Delta is compensating them with $30,000 (about ₹26 lakh).
Delta representative Morgan Durrant stated that the payment is a “good-faith gesture” with no conditions. He went on to say that it has no bearing on travelers’ rights.
One of the most important priorities right now is to take care of all the customers and Endeavor crew members who were involved,” Delta CEO Ed Bastian mentioned in a formal statement.
“I know that the hearts, thoughts, and prayers of the whole Delta family are with them in the coming days, and we’ll do everything possible to support them and their families,” he continued. A huge thank you to the medical professionals and first responders who have delivered care to them.
